Outbond activity tour in Bali

*A Glimpse of Balinese Countryside Life On Bike*
± three hours of cross-country biking

We pick you up from your place of stay, for a light, delectable breakfast at a place you choose: the sereneTirta Empul holy-water temple, or the Batur restaurant-with-a-view opposing the Batur crater lake. After breakfast you will begin your cycling experience from our starting point in the touristic Kintamani hotspot. We will stop by at an authentic, Balinese traditional home, and a close-up observation of Gumang Temple.

 *Trekking At Its Best*
± three hours of slow pace walk

A cut above the run-of-the-mill outdoor walking tours, our trek is thoughtfully designed to immerse you in the actual Balinese countryside life. Throughout the traverse we walk through, you will not be in an awkward bystander position, the center of attention, or treated as outsiders in a rush to acummulate souvenirs. From the moment you savour breakfast with us at our airy basecamp in the embrace of ricefields or at the serene Tirtha Empul temple, to the finishing point, you will be pampered like family members. You will visit the historic pura (temple) Suradayu, which also is the spot of the Suradayu holy spring, as well as a close look at the local setra (graveyard, site of ngabèn), before being transported back to our basecamp, where our fabulous luncheon awaits.

*Holy Water Ablution & Balinese Meditation for Spiritual Inner-Peace*
± 3 hours

Your unique experience starts with having breakfast at a place of your choice: the “Tampaksiring Journey Basecamp” or the Tirtha Empul temple complex. After a brief orientation, you will have a bath at the ablution pool at Tirtha Empul or Suradayu temple. Depends on your pick, afterwards you will be guided for an actual, deeply personal meditation experience. You are going to return to basecamp afterwards, for a delectable lunch.

*Plough & Plant, the Balinese Way*
± 2 hours (mention your preference: morning or afternoon session)

Balinese rice agriculture is never merely about food producing or technical irrigation. The unity of the soil, the human being and the realm of the supreme Creator reflects in the actuality and symbolism of the cycle of rice production. The subak water association, now enshrined on UNESCO World Heritage List, maintain a sophisticated system of reciprocity and just allocation of water. The rice planting-to-harvest cycle takes place in a socially regulated landscape, and the subak manager, called the pekasih, must decide the exact time for planting based on centuries old ethno-astronomy and meteorology understanding. You don’t have to know anything about astrophysics or weather forecasting to join this particular trip. After breakfast and a brief orientation slideshow, we get down to business, during which you are going to have the opportunity to work with indigenous soil plough dragged by a pair of cows, and to plant rice.
